Una “verified petition” es algo muy parecido al típico “affidavit” de los EEUU o el “statement of truth” del Reino Unido. En los Estados Unidos es algo habitual. El primer enlace de abajo explica con claridad de qué se trata. He podido comprobar que la traducción “petición verificada” es la más habitual en EEUU, pero a mí me parece deficiente por su literalidad. Al menos en España creo que no se entendería bien.
