Traducción del término "pit" que aparece en un manual de Ajuste de una cámara de inspección de superficies.

• If a local heterogeneity persists despite the various adjustments to the track guide (“peak” or “pit” in the “profile” curve of the video signal), the following points must be checked:
 Is there a defect on the strip at that point (scratch, hairline crack or strip)?
 Dirt or object on the light source’s eyepiece,
 Check the supply voltage of the corresponding light source,
(If using fibre optics light source) exchange the corresponding fiber optic harness with the one next to it to check if the problem is not due to a poorly installed light bulb or due to a large variance in bulb strength. If the heterogeneity moves during this exchange, change the responsible light bulb,

Sorry While I agree with Meirs' interpretation of the term in English, I don't find a satisfying Spanish translation that's common in the industry for it. Since I'm not specialized in electronics and technology, I guess that's not surprising.
