Can't quite get at what's meant by this, especially "rinnovo informatico", but I guess it can't be too difficult.

In the following:

XX si impegna a concedere alla Rete, previo accordo con YY, un contributo pari ad € **** per ogni anno di durata dell'Accordo rinnovato - per il rinnovo tecnologico/informatico delle apparecchiature.

Any ideas anyone?

It appears in a cooperation agreement concerning the sale of lubricants, but I'm afraid there's no more meaningful context that I can provide which would throw more light on the matter.

"upgrading of hardware and software equipment" seems likely. Perhaps "upgrading of computer equipment" would suffice. I'd also appreciate more context to get it exactly right! :-)

> Krokodile HI - "upgrading of hardware and software equipment" is my idea. My feeling is that the original text couuld be better. 'Tecnologico' is implied so it doesnt have to be translated but it can mean differetn things in different contexts. I am assuming it refers to hardware because of the 'apparecchiature' and therfore that leaves 'informatico' as software. Could be a lease or rental agreeement of some sort or a maintenance eprogram but could I have some more text? Danke!

Where apparecchiature and tecnologico is hardware and informatico is software (obviously hardware translates apparecchiature. You will need to check with the client or from the context that software upgrades are included.

or "updating of computer equipment"--see my comment above. "updating of computer equipment" is also a much more frequent phrase than "updating of technological equipment."

technology updates/upgrades

In most cases that I can think of either "updates" or "upgrades" would work. I would tend to not translate "delle apparecchiature"; technology updates are implicitly about equipment updates, and the stock use of the phrase as I know it does not include such terms.

Rethinking it a bit, "equipment technology upgrades/updates" could work as well.
