Discussion

amanda solymosi Oct 20, 2010:
There is no such thing as London Probation Board. notice the question is in small letters, it is one seperate sitting concerned with one particular 'client' probationee. There is however a Probation Service, of which there are several regional branches. I think you misunderstand the whole service for one 'meeting' or 'session.'
Ildiko Santana Oct 20, 2010:
"there is no further context" This would mean that the assignment consists of no more than these two words. Very strange.

My sister is a probation officer in London, many times I have translated for her (her title too)! Please have a look at the link (which is American as I'm not sure for which country you are doing this, though I presume England), for further info.

László writes that it is a 'service', but it is rather a board of probation officers at the end of the term of probation who meet to decide the further treatment of the person, he or she is not necessarily a 'volt' criminal, but a person found guilty and 'on probation' rather than in custody.
Note from asker:
thanks, it is for Northern Ireland, Uk, yes. I wasn't sure which was the proper term used.

A magyar nyelvű kifejezésben szereplő szervezet - mint az angol is - a volt bűnelkövetők társadalomba való integrációját segíti elő:

neutral amanda solymosi : László, while I don't disagree, I think it is too much information!

It may be lenghty but this is how the Hungarian counterpart is named.
agree Ildiko Santana : Following the first link we found, "London Probation Board" / "Londoni Pártfogó Szolgálat." I don't see providing explanation and various references as "too much information;" this is indeed a very helpful answer.
