Ik ben op zoek naar de exacte Nederlandse vertaling voor een populair-wetenschappelijk artikel. Ik raak niet verder dan 'selectieve transformatie' of 'snel selectieproces', en vind geen hulp op het internet.
De term wordt als volgt omschreven in het artikel:
Scientists know that natural selection has acted on the coding in a region of DNA if they see a lack of variability in that region. The genomes of any two people differ at only about one out of every 1,000 pairs of DNA nucleotides, or “letters.” These points of difference are known as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), and the alternative versions of nucleotides at each SNP are called alleles. When a particular SNP allele ends up improving reproductive success, it ultimately spreads through a population, or is “selected.” At the same time, nearby alleles travel with the favored one and thus become more common in the population as well. The resulting reduction of SNP variation in this part of the genome in a population is called a selective sweep.

Ik zie dat ik onder andere gezocht heb op: "allel" "meeliften" wat deze link op leverde: http://users.skynet.be/evolution/id32.htm, die bracht me niet direct verder
Ik heb ook gezocht op "selective sweep in chimpanzees" omdat ik daar interessante informatie had gevonden, waarmee ik ook aan de slag was gegaan om via zijpaden tot het doel te komen
Onder de hits zat echter ook een verwijzing naar een Nederlandse site in verband met dat proefschrift waarin onder andere de termen "repertoire selectie" en "repertoire reductie" voorkwamen, waarmee ik verder ben gegaan en toen ook uiteindelijk het volledige proefschrift vond

je kunt hier goed de reductie van het repertoir allelen in de populatie (selective sweep) zien, d.w.z. op het chromosoomfragment waar het gunstige allel zich bevindt: voor de selectie plaatsvond was er veel meer SNP-variatie daar
