Croatian term

fr.v.

Croatian to English Medical Medical: Cardiology
EKG: FA fr.v. 74/min, lijeva el.os

Dok EKG i FA ostaju kako jesu, molim za savjet trebaju li se ostale kratice u ovoj frazi prevoditi i ako trebaju- sto su?
Proposed translations (English)
4 ventricular rate

From what I understand, it is "electrical axis", am I right?
Lirka Aug 1, 2010:
FA should be either AF or AFib and how did you translate 'lijeva el. os'?

ventricular rate

cannot translate everything 1:1. in this case, 'rate' is more commonly used than 'frequency'

Vent Rate

Slažem se s Linguom 5B da se radi o ventrikularnoj frekvenciji.

Ako smo u pravu prevela bih to Vent Rate 74bpm (beats per minute).

Stranica vam možda pomogne s predstojećim nedoumicama.

Peer comment(s):

disagree Lirka : I'd rather not use 'vent' here first because it is not idiomatic and also because vent can stand for ventilation.

I was going by the ECG results example that I found but I erspect your opinion.
agree Lingua 5B : definitivno se bolje pari Vent Rate s onom kraticom fr.v.

Reference:

ventrikularna frekvencija

snimak iste. Ventrikularna frekvencija simuliranog EKG signala je 200/min. Sličnost
sa snimkom realnog signala je jasno uočljiva.

neutral Lirka : it simply denotes the ventircular rate, it does not have to be tachycardia; it could also be bradycardia or a normal rate ( as in this case)/There's nothing to 'decode' here; it's obvious that v stands for ventricular (IMO, 'vent' is NOT a suitable abbr.)
