Thaks all for your help. I did ask the client in the end and as suspected the actual final client is once or twice removed and my contact doesn't know the answer. As there is no entry against this title they have advised me not to be concerned so I am submitting the translation with this as an open query. Great suggestions though....
Kathy Freeman (asker) Jul 29, 2010:
Yes I will assuming the client ever comes back - the actual client is about three removed and may not actuually know the answer!!
Chris Hopley Jul 29, 2010:
OK, will you post the answer here too?
Kathy Freeman (asker) Jul 29, 2010:
Both suggestions seem feasible and would fit the contect. Unless anyone knows definitively I will ask the client to clarify.

Dutch term (edited): afw.

algemeen fiscaal wetboek, (internal) revenue code

'afw.' could stand for 'algemeen fiscaal wetboek'. Might 'spec.' be an abbreviation of 'specificatie'?
