"enlargement" is another alternative

Yes. "Swelling" is synonymous with "enlargment", but is more readily associated with volume. Causes have no bearing on the use of the term.

But what do enlarged lymph nodes really mean? Does an increase in size of lymph nodes automatically indicate a lymphoma?
