German term

Industrie

German to English Tech/Engineering Cinema, Film, TV, Drama Visual effects
Wir produzieren Effekte für Werbung, für "Industriefilme" und für Kinofilm....Wir sind weltweit aufgestellt und produzieren Visual Effects für "Industrie", für Werbung, für TV und für Kinofilme.

I'm not sure how to translate "Industriefilme" and "Industrie" here. proz suggests "coporate films/videos" for the first one, which I have used, but then I'm stuck on the second term. I assume "Industrie" essentially refers to the same thing here, so "industry" doesn't sound right... Any ideas? Thank you!

Discussion

Lonnie Legg Jul 4, 2010:
corporate film - the "nonindustrial" industry film It's important to understand that, in current German "industry" (media/advertising, that is) parlance, "Industriefilm/-Video", in its broadest & most common sense, refers to media used for corporate PR and--unlike the classical "industrial film" commonly contains little or no footage dealing with specific "industrial" processes/techniques.
I believe that this broad (& more common) meaning would better convey the scope of products for which this effects house is offering its services.

I agree with proz proposal for "Industriefilme", also for second instance.
Example sentence:

neutral oa_xxx (X) : that would be Unternehmensfilm, sure more or less the same in most contexts but there is a whole history of Industrial films, if its important to distinguish (maybe corporate comes up somewhere else) then would use industrial

industrial film(s)/ industry film(s)

Don't see a reason, why you can't stick to this.
Alternatives are: industrial video or image film/video
