Portuguese term

Ruiva

Portuguese to English Medical Livestock / Animal Husbandry
I am translating a series of specifications and standards from Brazil for the slaughtering of animals to produce food for human consumption. "Ruiva" appears in a list of diseases, which when detected, would prohibit the slaughter of the infected animal. At first I thought it was a typo for "raiva." But, "raiva" and "pseudo-raiva" appear in the same list. Does anyone have an equivalent in US English?

Many thanks in advance!

Douglas

neutral Filippe Vasconcellos de Freitas Guimarães : Nada a ver com Salmonella... inclusive, a Salmonella é Gram-negativa, e a E. rhusiopathiae, Gram-positiva... :)
