Zawsze konsultuję takie przypadki z moimi współpracownikami. Pracownia-mieszkanie ma także niewiele wystąpień w sieci.

That's your opinion, which I respect, though. Your suggestion is not good, either. Example to prove you wrong: D. Strickland is a portrait, landscape, and still life painter whose home studio is in rural Johnston County near Benson, NC (North Carolina).

Studio : (noun)
1: workplace for the teaching or practice of an art; "she ran a dance studio"; "the music department provided studios for their students"; "you don't need a studio to make a passport photograph"
2: an apartment with a living space and a bathroom and a small kitchen [syn: studio apartment]
3: workplace consisting of a room or building where movies or television shows or radio programs are produced and recorded
.......
in this context of a blue line-niebieska linia- studio would not be appropriate.

: I sincerely apologize, but this is not a good translation, either. Is your translation really accurate? Who uses "cum"? I appreciate your comment about my professionalism. Does my answer really merit a disagree? I doubt it...

my translation is in English and accurate, and your opinion is reactionary-a case of tit for tat? hardly professional.

Discussion
Myślę, że "home studio" jest tu dobrym kompromisem (przynajmniej nie stwarza wrażenia dwóch lokali - no i nie amerykanizuje tekstu, jeśli jego odbiorcami są Europejczycy).
Ciekawe, że "cum" znaczące "z" jest tak obce w USA, no ale co kraj to obyczaj.
Myślisz, że home studio bez apartment będzie oznaczać samo studio? Więc dlaczego byłoby home?
Co do sugestii odnośnie do samego terminu, jedna mądra propozycja brzmiała [cytat dosłowny]: "Probably the clearest thing is to specify what kind of studio it is. - apartment with an artist's/painting studio."
"bedroom-cum-studio": http://tinyurl.com/y7opj5u ).
U moich kolegów powoduje grymas na twarzy.
Bo częściej się mówi "mieszkanie-pracownia" (najpierw trzeba gdzieś mieszkać, aby móc pracować:). http://tinyurl.com/y2pf9de
2. Do "apartment-cum-studio" można dodać "flat-cum-studio": http://tinyurl.com/y46mj6l
used to join two nouns, showing that a person or thing does two things or has two purposes; combined with
This is my bedroom-cum-study.

Trudno więc stwierdzić, jak native speakerzy rozumieją przedmiotowe wyrażenie - moim zdaniem zrozumieją, że chodzi o dwa lokale.
