Discussion

Tania Therien (asker) Mar 25, 2010:
Yes, I agree. Aerodynamics is much narrower term. However, my contact has flown in both Denmark and Canada in military contexts and has taken a course by the same name. The certificate of training is ten years old--perhaps there has been a shift in usage in that time.
Brian Young Mar 24, 2010:
aerodynamics? aviation theory and aerodynamics would be overlapping concepts, and I think aerodynamics a narrower field, focussing more on the mechanics of flight, lift, airfoil development, and control surfaces, whereas aviation theory might be a broader concept. Aeroplanlære sounds like a terribly outdated word, almost silly. It's hard to believe they are actually using that word, especially today with the tendency to use English words in so many technical contexts.
Tania Therien (asker) Mar 24, 2010:
Aeroplanlære This was a course title. After contacting a Danish flight instructor it was suggested that the more likely translation is "Aerodynamics."

Any Sentence that goes with this term? It sounds like flight instructor, or Aeroplane Manuals.

Aviation theory

Your guess sounds good to me. Aeroplane? I didn't think that term had been in use since the first world war. Are these books from some kind of a museum?
