diagnosing
Could also be "analysis". It means"figuring out", which would sound too simple in a medical context. Detection is also close. They use two different words to cover pretty much the same thing. The English expression is a clue to the possibility that this is not top quality Danish writing. Using two words where one would be sufficient is an all too common practice.
