Slovak term

liate murivo

Slovak to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering Building techniques of the Roman period

My translation:
Another feature testifying to the Roman origin theory is the use of the building technique and a firm quality mortar. The cross-section of the wall reveals four rows of vertically laid stones and a core of Roman concrete.

poured or layered masonry (concrete)

..."concrete was virtualy "poured" or layered into a formwork and took the shape of its container
http://id-archserve.ucsb.edu/arthistory/152/concrete.html

alebo " we have learned that Romam concrete was a simple mixture of wet lime and pozzolan in specific ratios to match the desires of Roman architects. We have also learned that the Romans fallowed a placement method of tamping the stiff mortar in the voids of a rock layer".

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. "
