Ik kan het niet anders anders zien dan dat "were" toegevoegd moet worden als niet het hele voorafgaande zinsdeel (dan "was") maar het "trades" is waar "which" naar verwijst.

And the fact that ProLogis exceeded both ownership percentage thresholds is an important question *which* needs to be settled ..
So:
ProLogis exceeded both ownership percentage thresholds ... which *was* settled on February 26, 2010.
That's why I asked shouldn't it be "was settled on"
In the same way:
And the fact that ProLogis has purchased additional shares on the open market is an important question which will be settled next week
If you read the sentence in this way, then options like "afwikkelen, regelen" could do.
If you don't know exactly which interests are involved (don't have background information), it remains hard to say which translation is best.
