explanation
Sorry, I only know that this is an insurance type that pays indemnification only if the damages/losses from non-collectable claims reached a certain (usually high) level. This means that the insurer runs a relatively small risk and you run the risk of everything below that level, but at least, you are insured against the worst. I have no idea how to express this in either US or UK English, though.

my best guess: integral franchise (a synonym for Forderungsfranchise is Integralfranchise).

Many thanks, but I am worried about your pick: it does not seem to make sense to me! It is an insurance against bad deb, all right and there is a threshold involved, but I am practically sure that the correct translation would be \"intagral franchise\":
Franchise

There might be a better way of putting it into English, because I only had 16 hits on Google of which 2 or 3 were non-English speaking countries!

Comment: ""Receivables threshold" is what I'm going with.
With many thanks to Eva for her subsequent refinement and to writeaway as well."

receivables
I only know that you can sell receivables - "Forderungsverkauf" is "sale of receivables".
If you can franchise receivables, maybe it is "franchising of receivables" - however this is a guess only.
Maybe it helps anyway - good luck!
