This is a follow-up question to this one:

The responses were extremely helpful, so much so that I'd like to check that I've translated the main subject of the document correctly. Mr Bourth hit the nail on the head (what a great response!) - the drilling of ground-source boreholes was exactly what was meant. I'm not very happy with my original version of the main heading:
Travaux de forage pour monitoring et géothermie
Monitoring and geothermal drilling
I'm now thinking that I should amend it to:
Drilling of monitoring and ground-source boreholes
Any thoughts?
Many thanks!

Géothermie may well refer to both heating and cooling. As I said, the subsoil does not have to be very hot, only hotter than winter air temperatures, which means in summer it is likely to cooler than summer air temperatures and can be used for interior cooling.
Presumably monitoring refers to water levels, temperatures, pollution.
Further to puits/well, there may also be a distinction between open and closed-loop systems. Some systems extract water from the ground and inject it back into the ground - hotter or colder - after using it for heating or cooling. Closed-loop systems have pipes circulating through the subsoil and its water, using and reusing the same water contained in the pipe. "Wells" may ... well extract and reinject water while "boreholes" contain closed-loop pipes. Just an idea ...
