Another suggestion. Perhaps a bit more neutral than 'hawker' which I think has a slightly derogatory ring to it.

This is how I referred to my occupation when I did this job for over 10 years. However, this only works in UK English. In the US it refers to a trader in the financial markets. The following links using 'market trader' in this sense include the Financial Times, Dail Telegraph and Daily Mail:
