Any input much appreciated.

Lionel, non si vede perché il testo dovrebbe dire "orod." (ripeto, = "orodispersibili" - invariabilmente, in italiano) per intendere altro, penso gli autori sappiano di cosa parlano; anche se certo Richard potrebbe - se ne dispone - fornire per completezza il nome del farmaco...

Ciao, Richard; "Orod." in italiano sta per "orodispersibili" (http://www.google.it/search?hl=it&q="orod." "orodispersibili... e si riferisce a "compresse" (cpr), cioè "tablets" (cfr. answer e note - http://www.google.it/search?hl=it&q="orodispersible" "orodis... mentre per "sublingual" anche in italiano usiamo "sublinguali". ...Essendo italiana, non ho bisogno di spiegazioni/conferme/ricerche particolari per capire che "orod.", unito a "cpr.", ha invariabilmente il significato di "compresse orodispersibili" - e la tua successiva conferma lo prova, Richard; inoltre, non mi pare sia stata data in nessuna answer oltre la mia la resa in inglese con **orodispersible tablets**..., :)

compressa orosolubile= buccal tablet / tablet dissolving in the mouth

I think orod. isprobably a tipo fopr oros. hence orosolubile which on the emea site is given as "buccal" see below

however you could also use an alternative

neutral SJLD : it's not a typo but could well be "buccal tablet" rather than sublingual (as is nitroglycerin, v common heart medication) - need to know which drug/well now we know - it's indeed "orodispersible" or "orally disintegrating"

Seems "orodispersible" is used in the UK and is distinct from both sublingual and buccal tabs (one of those pharmacological mysteries).

I might add that I was first to identify "orod." as "orodispersibili"

Having said that, it still could be sublingual or buccal, depending on the drug.
