Patients who are candidates for cataract surgery

適応 is often translated as "applicable for" but in this case, since we're talking about people, it should be "candidates."
Also, when talking about cataracts, doctors used to refer to patients as "ready" or "ripe" for surgery, but since most health insurance companies are willing to pay for it regardless of severity, that has fallen out of practice.
