RECUBRIMIENTO DE NÚCLEOS

Spanish to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
This is part one of a three part question. This is from technical specifications describing the process of manufacturing pharmaceuticals, pills in this case. I think these are standard dry pills, not gel.

Anyway, I plan to post recubrimiento de los núcleos, engrosamiento and afinado as they are related, and I have no idea what they are.

Here is the text, it is a flow chart, ENGROSAMIENTO , AFINADO and COLORACIÓN all point towards PREPARACIÓN JARABES GRAGEADO.

Giovanni Rengifo Oct 13, 2009:
NUCLEUS VS. CORE When it comes to tablets, "core" is the word you want to use for "núcleo". I think "nucleus" would be suitable if this text was about "cells" or something else.
Muriel Vasconcellos Oct 12, 2009:
More help needed... The suggestions so far have too few hits to inspire any confidence. I did a little better with "nuclear coating," but not enough to convince me. This must be a reasonably common procedure. I tried other synonyms. The one that yielded the most hits was "nuclear shielding."
