4. Indexer Cylinders In/Out (8): There are four sets of 2 ***kicker cylinders ***(eight total) on this catwalk – DS and ODS “in” and DS and ODS “out”. Both cylinders per set operate together by using one valve. The “in” indexer cylinders are used to allow pipes to leave the pipe rack arms and enter the catwalk and skate trough area, by pushing the pipe over the pipe indexing pin. This ensures that only 1 pipe may enter the catwalk skate trough. Please see cautionary note, Section 5.3.1 Note 6. The “out” cylinders are used to return pipes to the pipe rack arms for removal (note – the indexing pins must be removed for pipe removal).
