Feed
XXX has recently developed a highly nutritional feed which has demonstrated complete replacement of Artemia as a major feed source in shrimp hatcheries.
Testing with clients replacing 100% artemia from cysts has consistently outperformed control tanks fed natural artemia in survival, growth and ***staging****.
I have the definiton of staging in English:
Period of early development, from a few hours after fertilization to the time pigmentation of the eyes becomes evident, during which the embryo is highly sensitive to shock.
I am just not sure about the proper term in Spanish.

determinación de estados de desarrollo
Technically staging means: to appoint a stage of development or a stage of variation during development.
The definition you have describes a stage of development, not the meaning of "Staging".
"Estadiaje" is mostly used in medicine and related to the evolution of an illness, specially cancer. I haven't seen it used in shrimp related research.

Discussion
It would be usefull if you say in which part of the FAO's link (http://www.fao.org/docrep/field/003/ab466s/AB466S05.htm
) you found the term "Estadiaje", because after going through it I couldn't find it. Thanks.
