Comment: "Hello, it seems like everyone is pretty agreed that this word means client, so I am selecting the first person who replied with this answer as the correct answer. Maybe someone else can answer for me what it is about the word "client" that makes me hesitate to use it in a notarization situation...its something about the word implying repeated business, or more effort spent on a person than just having someone walk in to sign a form would imply. I don't argue that this word means client, and I am sure its a great translation of the word. What I wonder is if a person that requests notarization of a form is always a "client." I'd be interested to hear thoughts. Thanks everybody for your help."
