L'uso di "detritus" di "desolation" e di quel "life is elsewhere" mi pare spinga verso questa interpretazione.
Autoisolamento (quasi un auto-seppellimento) in un ambiente angusto eppure ingombro di spazzatura, mentre le piazze ne sono sgombre; un ambiente esterno asettico contrapposto a uno interno quasi infetto (detritus)...
