agree Christine Andersen : Depending on context, I often leave out the ´ved´in English. E.g. John´s Garage, John Brown, but for Super Computers, I try to add a title - Director, manager or owner etc. if I can find one. V/ typically means proprietor or manager.

This is how I've always translated it, i.e. the named person represents the company in the context of a contract or similar. I think there's another previous kudoz question about this as well (although it may be in Norwegian instead).
