Danish term

morkøv

Danish to English Other Genealogy genealogy
ANNA HANSEN, KNAPSTRUP, MORKØV ?? KALUNDBORG
“VENDEDGÅRD”

Scribbled handwriting on top of a family history. The ?? might be DR, PA, OR, or something similar, it's very hard to read. I'm not sure if this is Danish or English.

Is MORKØV a name, a place, or a word that needs to be translated ? What would make sense for the two letter word before KALUNDBORG ?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Mørkøv pr. Kalundborg

This makes sence to me, provided that "Morkøv" = Mørkøv and "DR, PA, OR" = PR (pr.) - which means Mørkov near Kalundborg, Mørkøv being a village or small town. BUT: As far as I know, there is a another small place called Mørkov in that area (the north-western part of Seeland) as well!

I guess you don't have to translate "pr." - just write "MØRKØV, KALUNDBORG" (I must stress, however, that I giving advice on how to translate into English is way out of my league!!!)

Mørkøv

Jeg tror det skal være Mørkøv og ikke Morkøv.

neutral Barbara Østergaard : hvorfor ikke en "agree" til Susanne? :o)

Fordi en 'agree' ville være til ordet 'per'. Jeg ville bare gøre opmærksom på, at det hedder Mørkøv og ikke Morkøv
