Because I'd suggest you call this the same thing, only with "pipe" or "tube" instead of "vis".
Sounds like a fully enclosed screw conveyor, i.e. an endless screw inside a pipe. When you know the volume contained between two turns ("blades") of the screw, which is a matter of mathematics (relatively complex, I imagine, given the shape of the darned thing) or simple trial and error (turn the thing one turn, then measure the volume discharged in a cubic measuring container), you can proportion the product by turning the screw part a given number of times.
