Oleg is correct in his translation of 'право наследования' on its own, but the full expression, which you are interested in, is "to take up an inheritance ("to enter into an inheritance" also exists, but is mainly Biblical).

...come into possession of any inherited / due property or asset, monies... и т.д так как "...Вступать в право наследования..." как правило чем-то. Поэтому предложен указанный вариант.

Сам недавно такую штуку переводил - дал именно этот вариант и все прошло без проблем с точки зрения американского адвоката.

Нет, лучше \"to receive an inheritance\"

Тщательно копаться некогда, но, похоже, в законе нет выражения \"вступить в право наследования\":

В соответствии со ст. 546 ГК РСФСР, для приобретения наследства наследник должен его принять. При этом признается, что наследник принял наследство, когда он фактически вступил во владение наследственным имуществом или когда он подал нотариальному органу по месту открытия наследства заявление о принятии наследства.

Под фактическим вступлением в наследство понимается совершение любых действий по управлению, распоряжению и пользованию этим имуществом, поддержанию его в надлежащем состоянии, уплате налогов и других платежей и т.п.

Только possession тут не обойтись, так как наследник становится собственником, а это подразумевает право владения (possess) +пользования (use) +распоряжения (dispose).

Да, принятие наследства. Вот статья из ГК:

Статья 546. Принятие наследства

Для приобретения наследства наследник должен его принять. Не допускается принятие наследства под условием или с оговорками.

Признается, что наследник принял наследство, когда он фактически вступил во владение наследственным имуществом или когда он подал нотариальному органу по месту открытия наследства заявление о принятии наследства.

Указанные в настоящей статье действия должны быть совершены в течение шести месяцев со дня открытия наследства.

Лица, для которых право наследования возникает лишь в случае непринятия наследства другими наследниками, могут заявить о своем согласии принять наследство в течение оставшейся части срока для принятия наследства, а если эта часть менее трех месяцев, то она удлиняется до трех месяцев.

Принятое наследство признается принадлежащим наследнику со времени открытия наследства.

А что до вступления в право, я бы сказал просто

inherit

если это в предложении (Вступает в право наследования в таком-то возрасте Inherits at the age of ...)

taking control of the inheritance

если надо сохранить назывной характер фразы

Право наследование - succession
A person is called to the succession whether by the act of a deceased (e.t. by will) or by operation of law. When a person has formally accepted a succession and taken possession thereof, he/she becomes a heir, but sometimes the word "heir" is broadly used to anyone who is called to succession.
According to the Black's law "succession" means the devolution of title to property under the law of descent and distribution. It means the fact of the transmission of the rights, estate, obligations and charges of a deceased person to his heir or heirs.
