French term

EC

French to English Tech/Engineering Telecom(munications)
From a form allowing convention exhibitors to order telecommunications services for their stands at the venue:

- Je désire commander un accès internet sur bande passante (dl 2Mbits/ul 2 Mbits)
- (950) Raccordement téléphonique (appareil inclus)
- (951) Autres appareils sur la même ligne
- (953) Appareil fax en location (papier & toner inclus)
- Appareil téléphonique sur la même ligne
- (955) Raccordement ISDN-light, 3MSN
- (961) Ligne analogique commutée (Fax, ***EC***, analogique)

This is probably (hopefully!) something simple, but I'm drawing a complete blank! (The best I've come up with so far is "énergie consommée" but somehow I'm not convinced...) Thanks for your help!

Discussion

Laurel Clausen (asker) Jan 11, 2009:
Thank you for the suggestions, but neither seemed to truly fit this particular situation - from the further information I found "EC-Direct", I believe it is related to some sort of payment terminal, although I never did manage to get confirmation either way from the client...
Laurel Clausen (asker) Jan 6, 2009:
More info further down in the text:
(961) Idem (950), mais nécessaire pour l’utilisation d’un « ECDirect
analogique »

Looks like EC Direct is a credit card used in Switzerland (where, I forgot to mention, the venue is located).
