Marlene Curtis Dec 15, 2008:
Creio que "enjoying" no seu contexto tem mais um sentido de "fazer uso" e o fato de tais direitos estarem disponíveis aos membros já implica numa autorização para usá-los.
Sonny Tissot (asker) Dec 15, 2008:
Enjoyment Prezada Martha e Marlene, obrigado pelas suas respostas. Só gostaria de esclarecer uma dúvida que tenho com relação à frase "no pleno gozo". Eu entendo que "no pleno gozo" na verdade quer dizer "preenchem os requisitos para usufruir de todos os seus direitos". Será que bastaria dizer "full enjoyment" em inglês? Não seria necessário colocar algo antes como "fill all the requirements" ou "are duly qualified"? Em inglês, "full enjoyment" tem o mesmo sentido? Ou seja, "podendo usufruir de todos os seus direitos"

in good standing

I don't normally contribute to this Kudoz forum because there is usually more guesswork than real knowledge on display, but I'm doing so now because I know this is correct.

A "member in good standing" of an association is one who is up to date with his/her subscription and has not been debarred for breach of any of the association's rules or otherwise resigned from membership.

Please see, for example:
General Members in Good Standing
A General Member in good standing is defined as an entity that is current on all membership and/or resource fee payments (Bylaws, Article V, Section 1.b.).
http://www.arin.net/membership/index.html

Member or member in good standing.
• Section Number: 401.15

taking full advantage of the benefits to which they are entitled

Tissot, minha sugestão seria essa. Acho que se encaixaria bem no contexto. :)

Pesquise no Google e verá muitas referências.

of properly registered (members)

The expression `de sócios efetivos em pleno gozo de seus direitos` with the meaning `preenchem os requisitos para usufruir de todos os seus direitos` could be given as `of properly registered members`.

The example sentence is from:
http://www.osteos.org.lb/profile/index.asp
Example sentence:

The general assembly consists of all properly registered members who have paid their last year`s annual dues.

(UK) sui juris; (Latin countries) sui iuris

Actual members who are sui juris (of full age and with full civic and legal rights)-

Sui juris - a Latin expression which paradoxically, for some unfathomable reason, is not in common use in Roman Law civil-law systems.

Example sentence:

Extraordinariamente, a qualquer tempo, convocada pelo conselho fiscal, pelo conselho diretor ou por 1/3 dos sócios e pleno gozo de seus direitos, ...

All sui juris shareholders and directors must have elected ... Shareholders’ LAQC elections must be made by all sui juris shareholders: ...

Peer comment(s):

neutral rhandler : "sui juris" significa outra coisa: por direito próprio. Por exemplo, um herdeiro pode herdar do avô em representação do pai já falecido, ou por direito próprio.

fair enough but, in the UK & US, it means age of majority and with full rights to act.
