Bei hartem Kurzschluss reicht der max. Stellwert nicht mehr aus, um den Ausgangsstrom auf Nennstrom zu begrenzen.

Es geht um eine Spezifikation eines Schaltnetzteils.
Weiß jemand, was ein "harter Kurzschluss" ist und wie man ihn auf Englisch nennt?

"hard short" also means a short circuit with very low resistance, which thus allows a very high current to flow (limited only by the impedance of the source and the intermediate wiring).
