I don't know whether this exists in the US/UK legal system, but I hope this will help:
FACULTAD DE ATRACCIÓN:
Los artículos 107, fracción V, último párrafo, de la Constitución Política de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos; 182, fracción III, de la Ley de Amparo, y 21, fracción III, inciso b), de la Ley Orgánica del Poder Judicial de la Federación, establecen que la Suprema Corte de Justicia podrá resolver asuntos que, competencialmente correspondan a Tribunales Colegiados, siempre que éstos cuenten con las características de importancia y trascendencia de índole jurídica, que por los problemas jurídicos planteados, dada su relevancia, novedad o complejidad, requieran de un pronunciamiento del máximo tribunal del país.
