Sunnites

Britannica Concise Encyclopedia:

Sunnite
Larger of the two major divisions of Islam, comprising 90% of the world's Muslims.

Sunnites regard theirs as the mainstream and traditionalist branch of Islam, as distinguished from the minority branch, the Shīites. Sunnites recognize the first four Umayyad caliphs (see Umayyad dynasty) as Muhammad's rightful successors. Because the Sunnites understood Muhammad's theocratic state to have been an earthly, temporal dominion, they were willing to accept unexceptional and even foreign caliphs, provided order and religious orthodoxy were maintained. Sunnite orthodoxy emphasizes consensus based on the views and customs of the majority of the community, thereby enabling them to incorporate various customs and usages that arose historically but that had no roots in the Qurān. Sunnites recognize the six authentic books of the Hadīth and accept the four major schools of Islamic law. In the early 21st century, Sunnite Muslims numbered about one billion.

the sunnis

the sunnis and the congregation or
the sunnise and Al jamaah
Peer comment(s):

agree John Colangelo : I would either limit it to "The Sunnis" as a one word equivalent or " The people of the custom of the Prophet and community" as a definition. Just one more thing: Sunni and Sunnis with a capital "S."

thank you very much and also for the website thanks
neutral Heather Shaw : If you say "Sunni's" this will be understood to be in contrast to Shi'ites, where as in actuality, there are many people who claim to be Sunni's who might not be considered to be following Ahl As-Sunnah wa Al-Jama'a by some

Suna & Jama Muslim Sect

I don’t think this is translated into English, It should only be cognate because there isn’t any English equivalent. Some other options might be

Suna and Jama sect, Suna & Jama group, Or just simply Suna and Jama, depending on the context after that.

I found this spelling online " Al-Suna Wal-Jama'a" , there are many articles that you can search on Google and Yahoo, but, I think this is a more proper spelling than the first one I posted.

Ahl as-Sunnah wa Al-Jama'ah

How you tranlate it really depends on your audience. If this is a scholarly text on 'aqeedah, and is aimed at an audience with a good understanding of Islam, then I would transliterate it and add a footnote or an entry in the glossary saying that it means "Those who adhere to the Sunnah and the Muslim community" or something similar.
Peer comment(s):

neutral John Colangelo : I don´t agree with your translation but I do agree with your explanation. Hence, my neutral opinion - me smiling-. However, this is the eternal question especially concerning Islamic texts: Who is the reader. Do we say "Hellfire" or Jahannam?
20 mins
With Hellfire and Jahannam, at least you could say that they are equivalent, however since Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah is often used in the context of being "al-firqah al-naajihah" as opposed to other Sunni or non-Sunni groups its not equivalent to Sunni :)
agree Nancy Eweiss : I actually agree with your translation and explanation. I would personally transliterate as you did and add afootnote for clarification.

Passage of Sunnah and Jamaa'h

That's the passage following the companions of the prophet Muhammed (Salla Allahu A'llyhi Wa Sallam) in understanding and obedience to the Islamic texts of Quraan and Prohetical legislations...
THis is what distinguishes this passage (faction) from the too many passages pretending Islam.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Nesrin : What do you mean by "passage"? The word is clearly misused here.
