I don't think these are "valleys" they're areas of sea where fishing is done...as in the Valli di Comacchio, or in the Venetian Lagoon, etc., so maybe the Italian original should be "DEI valli da pesca"

... like those near Venice in Adriatic Sea.

EAB: Abstract in Lingua Inglese A fish hatchery is a humid area with a fragile equilibrium that needs intervention far its conservation. The fish hatchery is in fact the result of perduring human action, which has modified the natural space into an artificial one, i.e. an ecosystem into a geosystem. Such modification creates a milieu that repeats the natural one and which deserves to be maintened as such. The possibility that its present integrity be menaced may be the consequence of economic interests as well as of lack of clarity of the law. The area, which, tram a physical approach cannot be considered a lagoon, is, nevertheless, under the laws of the lagoon of Venice, where the fish hatcheries are considered obstacles to the flow of the tide. Valgrande and Vallesina are the result of ancient "lame", following the delta progression into the sea. Historical documents have shown that the present situation is the consequence of human actions at the end of the 17 th century: the meadows have been transformed into a lake far ichty cultivation. A plan concerning the maintenance of its integrity means therefore a deep attention to the origin and dynamics of fish hatchery. The expansion of other activities in the area (such as tourism) can be a menace to its integrity. Actually the valley can be maintained, as it presently is, only if there are rules to guarantee a plurality 0/ activities. The policy of routainment is therefore the only way to avoid exasperated innovation.
IAB: Abstract in Lingua Italiana Una valle da pesca si presenta oggi come un'area umida, il risultato di un'azione umana che, protrattasi nel tempo, ha modificato uno spazio naturale in uno artificiale, passando quindi da un ecosistema ad un geosistema. L'ambiente risultante è fornito di caratteristiche di naturalità tali da renderlo oggetto di salvaguardia ambientate. Un esempio di questo sono le valli da pesca alla foce del Tagliamento. Le minacce potenziali alla loro integrità non derivano solo dalle differenti proposte d'uso avanzate da più enti amministrativi, ma anche da una particolare condizione legislativa. Infatti l'area, che non può essere considerata sotto il profilo fisico una laguna, è sottoposta agli stessi vincoli che interessano le valli della Laguna di Venezia, considerate degli ostacoli alla libera propagazione dell'onda di marea. Valgrande e Vallesina sono invece il risultato di antiche "lame", formatesi per la rapida progressione in mare dell'apparato deltizio del Tagliamento e non risentono naturalmente del moto di marea. La documentazione archivistica ha evidenziato come l'attuale sistemazione sia frutto di modifiche che l'uomo ha apportato alla fine del XVII secolo ad un'area prativa trasformandola in uno specchio d'acqua adatto all'itticoltura. Formulare oggi un progetto di salvaguardia significa quindi tener conto della genesi e della dinamica attraverso la quale le valli da pesca vengono mantenute nel loro attuale stato. L'espansione di altre attività inserite nello stesso territoriQ minaccia l'integrità dell'area che potrebbe essere conservata nella sua attuale fisionomia solo attraverso una regolamentazione che garantisca il coesistere di più attività. Il "disuso" come forma di salvaguardia si presenta perciò come la possibilità di evitare un'innovazione esasperata.

My attempt. This, I think, gives a flavour of the history of this form of fishing, as well as being descriptive of where it is found. It also avoids the word "farm", because, from what I understand, although some "valli" do pen in the fish (so "farm"), for the most part they are catching wild fish.
