Catalan term

junta d’ombra

Catalan to English Tech/Engineering Architecture Describing a building
"El vidre està retranquejat respecte de la façana i proporciona una ***junta d’ombra*** entre el volum d’oficines i el sòcol creat per a la planta baixa"

It obviously implies that the shadows created along the building form part of the visual effect of the building. But is there a term for this?

area of shade where X meets Y (where X and Y come together)

"Junta d'ombra" (and "junta de sombra) get no hits. So I'd deduce that this is just junta + ombra > shade where these things meet.

Or maybe a "line" of shade. I don't suppose you have a picture...

junction of shade between

The shade acts as if it were a connection (a junction, a border,an area where two parts were put together) between two areas in light.
Note from asker:
This is how I was approaching the issue. (Explaining, rather than translating) .-). But I was hoping there would be a term somewhere out there since "junta d'ombra" is also an illustration caption. The illsutration shows the shadow on the wall acting as another architectonic element.
