The INTERNAL CAMBOX is an optional extra that can be added to an ATKIN AUTOMATION rollfeed. An encoder is supplied for mounting on the press’s crankshaft to monitor the position of the crank and thus the position of the press tool. The signal is primarily used to generate the FEED ANGLE and PILOTING ANGLE used in operating the rollfeed unit giving greater flexibility in tailoring these to suit the needs of varying tooling.
The cambox facility is only applicable for mechanical presses (hydraulic presses have no crankshaft).
