prendi "con le pinze" questa mia proposta!!
Dal contesto, la frase in questione sembrerebbe una metafora dell´atto del morire...e "Typ" si riferisce FORSE a Dio.
In altre parole: "...è davvero possibile viaggiare in autostrada a 180 km/h, togliere le mani dal volante senza trovarsi subito dopo al cospetto del Tipo, con gli angeli che fanno capolino?". Con l´intero teso sotto, riesci magari a capire a chi/cosa faccia riferimento quel "Typ".

: certo che Typ si riferisce a Dio, ma non credo proprio si possa tradurre con Tipo purse vi fosse, e non credo, un intento denigratorio nel testo....
