I'm thinking along the lines of "panel" but I'm not at all sure. The word "carta" also occurs in "Carta interface RS232", "Carta de entradas y salidas E/S-I" and "Carta para electroimanes", amongst others.

Andrew, I would say panel, as you suggested. I'm not simply repeating your suggestion to get Kudoz points.
I've checked and checked and you simply do not say 'Electronic Card' in English unless of course you're referring to credit cards or perhaps video card games.
I would also say 'panel for electromagnetic (shielding, etc...), not card.
HOWEVER, you DO say RS232 Interface CARD - this being a 'tarjeta de expansión' under normal usage. You could also have an E/S-I input/output CARD.
It's a question of differentiation between devices here I think.
