Please find attached a similar phrase in the Evidence Act of Ontario (art. 46):
"...is any objection to its reception in evidence if the court or judge before whom it is tendered thinks proper to receive it"
translated in French as
"...ne les empêche d’être reçus en preuve si le tribunal ou le juge devant lequel ils sont présentés estime approprié de les admettre"
I assume that "it" refers to a declaration, so it is "la" declaration in French. If it referring to a masculine noun in French, it should be "le".
It seems though that "reçu en preuve" is mainly used in Canada .
