If it's what you say you are then it means "Entered", it has nothing to do with publication, Certificates are not published, they are registered or entered in the (in this case) Book of Marriages. They're not published.

MaryAnn, ci vuole piu' contesto per poterti aiutare - "stampa" in italiano non significa "stamp" o "seal", ma per capire a cosa si riferisca devi dare qualche informazione in piu' sul certificato.

Sorry for the insufficient context. The word "Stampe" appears prior to the certificate number and to the following statement: "Oggetto: Notifica di matrimonio per l'annotazione a margine dell'atto do Battesimo." From the context, it seems as though, in this case, the word "stampe" has more to do with publication. Thank you for your suggestions.

Perhaps our colleague is not an expert in Certificates. Thanks for your opinion.
disagree silvia b (X) : you don't need to be an "expert in Certificates" to know that "stampa" does NOT mean "seal" or "stamp" - when you're guessing, you should use the appropriate confidence level//ragionamento curioso...

That is still my confidence level, since no native Italian speakers can come up with something as simple as "ENTERED" which is what it means in this case now that we have the content.

I finally decided on the word "published" based on the following information I found on the Internet: "Le pubblicazioni religiose vengono affisse ed esposte per otto giorni sia presso le parrocchie di appartenenza dei due sposi che presso quella dove verrà celebrato il rito. Una volta scaduti i termini dell'affissione per le pubblicazioni, il parroco rilascia il certificato di avvenuta pubblicazione." Although "entered" explains the process of recording the certificate, the word "stampe" in this document referred to more than entering. It referred to a public issuance of the certificate; in other words, a publication of it. Again, thanks to all of you for your generous help."

forse per stampa intende pubblicazione?? in ogni caso non sarebbe italiano corrente. non essendo sposata non so neanche se la pubblicazione e' seguita da un numero....

sto solo ipotizzando
un po' di contesto sarebbe molto d'aiuto...
