English term

the Kit

English to German Medical Medical: Instruments Blood analysis
This is a kit of blood analysis instruments and test equipment.
The client suggested that this should be translated as "der Kit", but I want to hear your expert opinion about the article.
Is there any precedence in German dictionaries or grammars that the correct article should be "der Kit" instead of "das Kit" in nominative?

The word has been discussed before, but not the article:

Please comment when you agree If you agree with Claudia, please state whether you consider der or das to be the most suitable. Otherwise your opinion doesn't give me any lead!

der oder das Kit

Der Duden sagt: 1. Kit, das od. der; -[s], -s [engl. kit < mittelniederl. kitte = hölzernes Gefäß, H. u.] ...

Aus Medizintexten ist mir "das" Kit geläufiger.
Note from asker:
Very interesting! Those of you who agree, please write whether you consider das or der to be more correct, otherwise your "agree" is of no help to me!

danke
