The consultation focuses on the following topics: the basic features required of a patent system; the Community patent which remains a priority of European IPR policy; the European Patent System and in particular the European Patent Litigation Agreement (EPLA) aiming at setting up an European Patent Court; and issues of harmonisation of patent law across Europe to improve the current patent system.
