tender/correspondence regarding
"Der vorhabensbezogene Bebauungsplan wurde vom Investor finanziert, da der Investor beabsichtigte, die Windeignungsfläche durch eine maximal mögliche Anzahl von Windenergieanlagen selbst auszunutzen."
This is not the text I'm translating, but it's the general idea. Does anyone have an idea for a term that fits into the 25 max. character cell of an Excel sheet? "Area/Terrain suitable for wind farm use" will not do, and I just hope somebody out there can give me a hint. It appears to to be a fairly common term for German manufacturing companies, but, so far, I have not been able to come up with a suitably short term. Thanks, Michael

Windeignungsflche

potential wind farm area
BTW, there are only 85 Google hits, so this is not exactly a "common term"...
I would simplify this in English - 24 characters, and it says that this is the area that could be used (which implies that it is suitable) for wind farms

Michael,
If you're constricted by space requirements, why not leave out 'wind farm' entirely and simply say 'useful area' (or a similar phrase). It's already obvious that the area refers to wind farms.
