... is the standard international term, usually used for the age group 25-54, with "working age" usually meaning 15-64.
So unless your text indicates that something different is meant, I'd go with this (as used by EIRO, OECD etc.).
Note that the term is not uncontroversial - see e.g. second link referring to asome people using PWA to mean 25-59.

I don't think I would translate the Haupt, main employment age doesn't sound correct to me.

: It's a standard term. Haupterwerbsalter is not the same as Erwerbsalter and "employment" does not cover all forms of work.

: This term is sometimes used, but for widely differing age groups - i.e. there's no standard definition and it's not a standard term.
