Italian term

scarico laterale/scarico aereo

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks
Does anyone know the correct way to say this in English - we are talking about the exhaust pipe of a diesel truck. I don't know if I can simply say "lateral or side exhaust" and "air exhaust".

Thanks!

sorry, hit wrong button.

As I was saying the vertical exhaust is of the type that sits directly behind the drivers/passenger seat and is fixed to the back of the cab (looks like a stove pipe). The side exhaust sits underneath the cab (most often on the passeger side), this is the annoying type of exhaust which pumps diesel fumes and particulates into your car when your sitting next to a truck at traffic lights.

Sometimes also referred to as upright exhaust.
