The term exemplification means symbolization to show relationship of a sample and an original. It is an official transcript of a document from public records. This copy can be used as evidence by authenticating or certifying as a true copy. For example, exemplification of a judgment can be used as evidence once the authority attests it. Exemplifications can only be attested and executed by the authority holding the record or the issuing authority. In certain states of the U.S. certified copies of birth and death certificates are accompanied by a letter of exemplification for authentication.
