German term
abschlämmbar
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
Qualitätssicherung
This phrase is from a document on Prüfanforderungen for children's play sand (for sandboxes). One of the criteria to be tested is the "Spezifikation der Masse-% der abschlämmbaren Bestandteile". (The others are grain size and shape, chemical analysis, density, bulk weight and so on). I am having trouble with "abschlämmbar". Can anyone help?

German term (edited):
abschlämmbare Bestandteile
fine particle content / fines content
I've previously come across "settleable solids" and "fine particles"/"fines" for "abschlämmbare Bestandteile". In the context of the composition of sand, I'd prefer "fine particle content" or "fines content".
