French term

anneaux

French to English Tech/Engineering Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng cement
Hello,

I have no idea how to translate "anneaux"

« La régulation de la température dans le four et la teneur en O2 dans celui-ci sont des paramètres importants du procédé pour fixer le soufre dans le clinker en formant le sulfoaluminate de calcium, évitant ainsi la formation de concrétions dans le préchauffeur et d’anneaux dans le four, phénomènes courants si l’on a recours à des matériaux riches en soufre. »

Your help would be highly appreciated
Thank you

Jan 31, 2011 03:54: Yolanda Broad changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (3): Rachel Fell, Karin Haake, Yolanda Broad

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

"...The use of high sulfur fuel in a wet rotary kiln by controlling oxygen in the kiln's sintering zone based on sulfur in the cement clinker provides considerable advantages. Long wet rotary kilns and semi-wet rotary kiln are susceptible to blockage by calcium sulfate and calcium sulfite ring formations. Due to this potential for blockage,... "

The solids deposited on the walls of the rotary kiln form a ring. Ring, in this case, doesn´t refer to a molecular structure.

some compounds have a long or short string structure, which can evolve to a closed string if, by numerous factors (some described in your text, like temperature), some atoms in the string are reliesed, originating the union of atoms generally at the end of the string, causing the string's to close in itself
