Hi! here is one site, where you can upload documents and get them converted into .pdf format, if you don´t have acrobat 6.0 or 7.0 professional edition. I wanted to share my new lot. The link http://www.doc2pdf.net/

I wouldn't want to send any of my docs of which many contain confidential information (either my own as in invoices or that of my clients) to some unknown site!

There are plenty of free or inexpensive tools available to do any conversion in the safety of your own home!

There's already reliable freeware that will do it Aug 15, 2005

OpenOffice for one, has a function that opens a wide range of documents and can convert them to pdf.
I believe some MS office applications can also.

Anyone else have something to contribute.

I personally use primoPDF (http://www.primopdf.com/). It is free and without ads, and installs a virtual printer that converts any printable file to pdf format.
There are many free apps of this type.

Hi! this is even better. I use Acrobat 6.0 but it creates sometimes problems while generating a .pdf from word. I don´t find time to look into the technicalities of the problem due to too much work, that´s how I found the site above. I used it basically only once (without thinking about the security aspect) to convert one invoice. Brandis
